As part of the Youngeun Artist Project, Youngeun Museum of Contemporary Art will present Reminiscence, a solo exhibition by Woo Bokyung, a resident artist of the 13th Youngeun Creative Studio, from July 4 to July 26. The exhibition showcases the artist’s long artistic journey through works that embody the spirit of Korean folk painting (minhwa). Using everyday coffee filters as her canvas, Woo reinterprets traditional minhwa motifs in her own visual language, drawing inspiration from the vitality of Goguryeo tomb murals, the warmth of Joseon folk paintings, and the lyrical scenes of everyday life depicted in the genre paintings of Kim Hongdo and Shin Yunbok.
